چکیده

TLRs are important innate immune receptors. It has been found that vanadium can affect the immune function in broilers. However, vanadium action in the regulation of TLRs is unknown. A total of 420 one-day-old avian broilers were divided into six groups, and fed on a corn-soybean basal diet as control diet (vanadium 0.073 mg/kg) or the same diet supplemented with vanadium at the doses of 5, 15, 30, 45 and 60 mg/kg in the form of ammonium metavanadate. TLR4 and TLR7 mRNA expression in lymphoid organs of each group were studied by real time RT-PCR form. The results indicated that the TLR4 and TLR7 mRNA expression in thymus and TLR4 mRNA expression in bursa were down-regulated in the 60 mg/kg group. The TLR7 mRNA expression in bursa was down-regulated in 30 mg/kg, 45 mg/kg and 60 mg/kg groups, and up-regulated in the 5 mg/kg group. Also, the TLR4 and TLR7 mRNA expression in spleen was down-regulated in the 45 mg/kg and 60 mg/kg groups, and up-regulated in the 5 mg/kg group. The abovementioned results showed that dietary vanadium in excess of 30 mg/kg could down-regulate the TLR4 and TLR7 mRNA expression in lymphoid organs, which finally impaired innate immunity in broilers. *Corresponding author: Hengmin Cui, PhD, Professor, College of Veterinary Medicine, Sichuan Agricultural University, Ya’an, Sichuan 625014, China, Tel: +86 13608264628; Fax: +86 0835 2882340; E-mail: [email protected]; [email protected] Received April 09, 2012; Accepted August 13, 2012; Published August 16, 2012 Citation: Cui W, Cui H, Peng X, Fang J, Zuo Z, et al. The evaluation of TLR1, TLR2, TLR4, TLR7, and TLR8 expression levels in the newly-diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients

Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is described by the clonal expansion of myeloid blasts with abnormal differentiation. Considering the role of Toll-like receptors (TLRs) in inflammation induction and the effect of chronic inflammation on cancer development, investigating the state of TLRs’ expression in human malignancies has attracted scientists’ attention. Methods: In this study, 36 ...

Abstract Objective: The previous studies indicated that the TLRs especially Toll-like receptor 4) TLR4 (are involved in the process of diabetes. The aim of the present research was to investigate the time course expression pattern of TLR4-a main component of innate immune system- in mRNA levels in the heart tissue of diabetic male wistar rats. Materials and Methods: In this research, adu...

TLR4 and TLR2 Expression in Biopsy Specimens from Antral and Corporal Stomach Zones in Helicobacter pylori Infections

Background: It is not yet known which types of Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are most effective in Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) recognition. It is also not known which gastric zones have the most prominent roles in TLR-mediated bacterial recognition. The aim of this work was to analyze the expression of TLR2 and TLR4 in biopsy specimens from H. pylori-infected patients. Methods: Thirty-eight...

Effects of feed restriction and dietary fat type on mRNA expression of liver fatty acid-binding protein (L-FABP) in broilers

Background: Liver fatty acid-binding protein (L-FABP) is the main cytosolic binding site for long chain fatty acids in hepatocytes. FABPs enhance the uptake of fatty acids into the cell by increasing their concentration due to decreasing concentration of unbound fatty acids inside the cell. Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of dietary unsaturated to saturated fatty a...

Camel whey protein enhances lymphocyte survival by modulating the expression of survivin, bim/bax, and cytochrome C and restores heat stress-mediated pathological alteration in lymphoid organs

Objective(s): Heat stress (HS) is a catastrophic stressor that dampens immunity. The current study investigates the effect of dietary administration with camel whey protein (CWP) on apoptotic pathway caused by HS. Materials and Methods: Forty-five male mice were divided into three groups: a control group; HS group; and HS mice that were orally supplemented with CWP (CWP-HS group). Results: We f...
